Human Hair Wigs is the best way to achieve a realistic & natural look, Human Wigs are ideal for women who wish to have the most realistic natural appearance as close to your own hair.

Wigs made of 100% Human Hair or Remy Human hair can be curled and styled, just like your own hair. Additionally, many of these wigs come with lace for an enhanced more natural realistic hairline.

You don’t have to worry about using curling irons or other heat styling tools, because they are made of human hair.

As you might know, buying a wig can seem like a very complicated and confusing thing, especially if you are a first-time buyer. There are so many different types to choose from, an array of customization options, and new wig terms to get familiar with.

That can be quite overwhelming if you don’t have any experience with wearing wigs. Regardless of whether you need a hairpiece due to hair loss or simply want to transform your current look, it is crucial to purchase the right one. From choosing a wig type, making sure it will fit, selecting colors, density, and finally taking care of your wig – all of these need to be done right in order to have the perfect wig.

To make this process easier for our dear customers, we have decided to compile an extensive list of frequently asked wig questions. We have covered pretty much everything; from wig types, shopping tips, and questions about wig care, but if you have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact us!

There are so many types of wigs! First off, your client will need to decide if they’d like a ready-made or custom wig. Ready-made wigs are stock hair systems. They’re generally synthetic, pre-styled, and a one-size-fits-all option.

For a slightly more customizable option, these units can be adjusted to the wearer’s head for an increase in price. Because these units aren’t custom made for individual clients, they tend to look a little less realistic. However, they’re generally the most affordable option.

Custom wigs are made specifically for a client. They’re generally made from lighter materials and can be more comfortable to wear. Because these are tailor-made, more detail can be focused on the front of the hairline.

This is important because the front of the hairline is considered to be the most important part of a hair system. This is because the hairline can be a dead giveaway of a wig or replacement system. If it blends well, no one notices that it’s anything other than the wearer’s own hair.

Types of Wigs

There are four main types of wigs: polyurethane (“poly”), mesh (lace and monofilament), combo, and open weft units. Depending on your client’s needs for hair replacement, they can also choose from full wigs, toppers (partial wigs), and hairpieces. Let’s take a deeper look at these systems so your clients will know exactly what type of wig to reach for.

Polyurethane Styles

Polyurethane (“poly”) wigs are generally thin and pigmented. This helps them match your client’s skin tone and blend in. This skin-like material makes using tapes and adhesives easier on the wig as a whole and helps extend the wig’s life.

The comfort of poly units isn’t quite at the level of what you’d be able to expect with a mesh unit. It tends to run hot since this base material isn’t as breathable. Some wearers have also reported that poly wig bases have a thicker feel and creates a “floating” sensation over their scalp. This has a tendency to affect the look of the hairline and can make it appear less natural.

Mesh Units

Mesh units are a general category that is made up of full lace and monofilament styles. The full lace group is comprised of swiss lace, glass-silk, and 100% hand tied systems. Monofilament constructions include 100% hand-tied, single, and double units.

Monofilament material is a blend of very fine lace-like material, generally polyester or nylon mesh. Because of the unique construction of this wig type, it’s great for sensitive scalps as the top is breathable. It also takes on the color of the wearer’s scalp once it’s in place.

This is because each hair on monofilament wigs are hand-tied to the mesh blend base. This time-intensive process creates a very natural look and blends the hairs together seamlessly.

This enables you and your client to part the hair wherever you’d like and still have the appearance that it’s growing out of their own hair follicles.

This category is, without a doubt, the most versatile option. They can be styled in an updo, tucked behind the ears, and parted in virtually any spot without the wig base being noticeable. The hairline of the wig is almost undetectable and, generally, the scalp can be seen through the mesh. This gives a lot of versatility and provides a natural and authentic look.

Full lace units generally have urethane strips for adhesives to stick to. Our lace tapes [link to lace front support tape] are the perfect choice to use with mesh systems. These units are very delicate, so lace tape is gentle enough to use with these hair systems so they aren’t damaged.

Some monofilament styles can be a combination style that can have a machine-made back and sides, with a hand-tied top.

This is more affordable, while still giving your clients almost all of the benefits of a hand-tied mesh unit. The combos mentioned in this section are the most popular constructions, but we’ll talk in more detail about bases below once you read further.

The construction of lace front wigs is really as simple as it sounds. These styles have a lace portion only in the front of the unit. The sheer mesh base that the individual hairs are tied to is perfect for creating a natural-looking hairline.

The lace sits right along the forehead where the hairline would naturally be. The rest of the unit utilizes a thicker cap as a base. These may also have clips sewn in that help to secure it to other existing hair or wig caps that might be used.

Welded lace is fibers that have been tightly interwoven, forming a “welded” fabric. This allows you to part the unit anywhere your client wants. Welded lace is also the most durable type of lace.

Trimming the lace fronts on these types of units can cause them to separate, so if you choose to do so for a client, proceed with caution and use only the correct tools recommended by the manufacturer of the wig.

French drawn units are really interesting. They’re constructed using three layers of material. Two layers of glass-silk are used, along with one layer of swiss lace. The swiss lace is sandwiched between the layers of glass-silk and is the material that the hair is tied to.

The glass-silk above and below the knot allows for a smooth and comfortable wear experience. French drawn units create a very realistic and natural scalp appearance because of the layered construction that keeps the knots hidden.

How do human wigs work?

During the last couple of years, there was a big progress in the wig industry. Modern ones look completely real and are available to many different customers. The main thing about them is that it doesn’t matter how much natural strands you have or what their length is, literally everyone can wear a wig if they choose to.

Every hairpiece has a cap with hair sewn onto it either by a machine or by hand. That way, you get a full head of hair of your preference. Depending on the wig type, there can also be lace parts on the cap. You simply need to attach the wig and you’re all set. It’s actually pretty simple and straightforward.

 Does a wig look natural?

If you have never worn a wig, you might be worried about how natural they actually look. You may remember wigs from many years ago that didn’t really look realistic, but you can rest assured that they have come a long way. Modern ones, of good quality, are completely indistinguishable from your real locks.

If the fit is right, no one will ever suspect that it’s not your real hair. Quality wigs have a realistic hairline and are made from real hair so that it looks just like the real thing. Many celebrities are wearing wigs and you usually do not even notice it. That’s why you should have no fear of it looking fake or unnatural.

– How long does a wig last?

The longevity depends on the type of hairpiece and the hair on it. Most of the time, synthetic ones last for about one year, while human hair ones last for three years or more. Another thing that influences the lifespan is how good the wig is taken care of. If you follow all the maintenance instructions, you can add a few extra months of life.

It also depends on whether you wear it every single day and whether you have multiple ones that you change up. If you want a hairpiece that you can wear for a really long period of time, you should definitely go for quality and real human hair. However, if you need it only temporarily, for a couple of months, synthetic ones will also do the job.

How do I buy a wig online?

The first step of buying a wig is knowing your preferences, needs, and what kind of result you are expecting. Here are a couple of questions that you can ask yourself to determine that. What is the reason I’m buying a wig? How long am I planning to wear it? What kind of look and style am I going for? Keep those answers in mind when choosing a wig later on. I

f you are suffering from hair loss or are about to go through chemotherapy, it is crucial to plan in advance. It is a great idea to purchase before you lose all of your hair because that will certainly be a lot less traumatic. You can also cut a small strand of your hair so you can match it better later. The size of your head needs to be determined, then you should think about wig and cap types, choosing the right color and style.

– How do I know my wig size?

The first step is measuring your head. You will need a tape measure to do that. Place one end on your forehead and go all around the head, following your hairline. Write the measurement down. Place the one end on your forehead again, but this time go to the back of your head, at the nape of your neck. Write it down as well. These are the main two measurements that you’ll need in order to determine the right size. Wigs come usually come in small, medium, and large sizes.

Most women have an average-sized head so the medium will fit them great, however, some might require smaller or larger sizes. Each shop will have its sizes along with the approximate measurements for each one.

You simply need to take a look at and compare it to your measurements. Usually, the ultra-small cap fits heads that are under 20 inches, small is for 21-inch heads, medium or average size is about 21.5 – 22.5 inches, and a large-cap fits heads larger than 22.5 inches.

Keep in mind that you should not rush through this process because your new hair needs to fit you exactly right and many stores do not offer refunds.

– Choosing a wig cap

A traditional wig cap is made out of fabric and has hair sewn onto it by a machine. The bundles of hair a slightly teased on the roots in order to hide the cap better. If you purchase a quality hairpiece with a traditional cap, it will look great and realistic. There are also monofilament cap types are made out of a lace mesh material and hairs are sewn by hand. This type of caps i usually on full lace wig types.

These, of course, are more comfortable to wear and look even more natural. However, there are caps that are a mixture of the two. For example, a 360 wig has a cap with lace going all around the head, a frontal one has the mesh material only at the front.

– How do I select a wig color?

Wigs come in hundreds of different colors so there are many shades to choose from. You first need to decide whether you want to imitate your natural hair color or go for a completely new style. If you want an exact match of your real strands, you need to be very careful with color selection.

Although pictures of color swatches you see in online stores offer a fair representation of the shades, sometimes the color can look slightly different in real life. For that reason, it is recommended that you first order a color swatch from the store you’re buying from and see how the shades actually look. Now you can compare them to your natural strands and make the best match.

– Choosing a texture

Another way to customize your hairpiece and make it fit you perfectly is by choosing a nice texture. Wigs come in so many different textures including straight, wavy, body wave, deep curl, kinky curly, and many others. Some are even pre-styled so you get a wig that’s literally ready to wear.

Here you have the option to choose a texture that’s most similar to your real strands, but if you’re looking to change your style using a wig, go for something new and different. Some women also prefer two have two or more wigs in each texture so that they can change it up whenever they want to.

– What does the density of a wig mean?

Density means how much hair there is on a cap. It determines the thickness and overall volume of the hair. If the density is very low, you will get thin and fine hair and if it’s higher, you will get more thickness. You need to determine what kind of look you’re going for in order to select the right density percentage.

90% is the lowest density that you can get and it is not really recommended, just like 100 – 110% density. 130% density is a great option because it is very similar to real hair. 150% density will give you a bit of extra volume, but nothing too over the top. 180% and 200% density means big volume and thickness, great for special occasions.

– What is 130% wig density?

This is the default wig density you can buy at Malaysia Hair Imports. We do not have wigs that have a density of less than 130% because we believe those are not up to our standards because of very thin hair.

130% is considered to be the density of regular human hair which means you will get a very natural look if you go with this percentage. It is perfect for anyone who wants their hairpiece to look completely real and just like natural strands. You won’t get wild, over the top volume, but most customers are usually not looking for that, especially if you suffer from hair loss.

Densities between 130% and 200% are more suitable for girls who have naturally very thick hair or want a glamorous look with lots of volumes. As with other options, you first need to determine what are your needs and then choose and shop accordingly.

Remy Hair is hair where all cuticles are intact and naturally aligned in
one direction from root-to-tip, which prevents matting and tangling.

Virgin Hair is hair that is in its natural state. No chemical changes, no color, have not been processed.

Raw hair has not been steamed processed or chemically altered in any way.

Our Hair Company does not grade our hair products since it is 100% human Raw hair.

What is high-density hair?

High-density hair means it is over 130% dense. If you’re looking for a lot of volumes and really thick strands, you should definitely go above the default density. High-density hair is recommended for girls who have naturally very thick hair or simply want to have a very fancy and extravagant look.

The highest density hair that you can get is about 200%. That is almost double the regular, default density which means you get A LOT of hair. If you want to look like a real diva with amazingly voluminous locks, then try a higher density hair, you will definitely notice the difference. Should I buy more than one hairpiece?

To begin, start with one wig and see how it fits you and whether you would like to continue to wear it for longer. But if your budget allows you, it is a good idea to have at least two wigs.

There are a couple of reasons for that. First of all, your hair will last you a lot longer if you don’t wear it every single day. So having two wigs that you can change every once in a while is definitely useful if you want to get as much out of them. Another reason why having two is better is washing and drying. While you’re cleaning one, you can wear the other.

A cool thing that you can do with two wigs that’s a real time saver is having one curly and the other straight. That way you can change up your style as often as you want, without having to constantly curl and straighten your hair. But if you’re on a tight budget, one will do the trick as well.

– Why did I find cheaper wigs elsewhere?

Some of the wigs you find elsewhere might be cheaper, but there is a good reason for that. If the price is lower than average, the hair will certainly not be high quality, the cap won’t be as sturdy and comfortable, the density will be very low, and it will definitely not look good or last as long.

The saying “You get what you pay for” really rings true when it comes to wigs. You cannot expect to buy a high-quality wig for a very cheap price. So the reason why you might find that AiryHair wigs are not as cheap as other ones you find is the quality. We do not sell low-quality products because they simply do not meet our standards.

For example, our default hair density is 130% and we do not sell anything that’s lower. Cheap hair has a very short lifespan which means you would have to buy a new one very quickly. When you do the math, it’s actually more affordable to buy one, more expensive, high-quality hairpiece that will last you for a very long time, than several cheap ones.

– Will insurance pay for my human wig?

Most insurance companies will pay for your wig, at least partially. However, the right term you need to use when speaking to your insurance is a cranial prosthesis. First, ask your doctor to write you a prescription for it, including the ICD-9 code. Then you need to contact your insurance and ask them about their policy regarding cranial prosthesis.

Although stores will not accept any payments directly from your insurance, they can provide you with a receipt that you can use to get reimbursed by your insurance company. If they require any additional information, most stores will provide that, including AiryHair. Can my hair be used to make a wig for my loved one?

If someone you know is battling an illness and is in a need of a hairpiece, maybe you have considered donating your own hair. While that is very generous, it is not as easy to do so. First of all, hair from one donor is not enough to make a full wig so your strands would be mixed with ones from other donors as well. Custom made wigs are also very expensive and take a lot of time to make.

If your loved one is suffering from a disease that’s making them lose hair rapidly, they don’t have that much time to waste and probably want their hairpiece as soon as possible. Also, human hair is not really recommended for cancer patients and other people will serious illness because it’s hard for them to maintain it properly while being treated. Synthetic hair is a much better option because it can still look great, but doesn’t require much maintenance.
